Gerald Aubin was appointed Director of the Rhode Island Lottery in May, 1996. Prior to his appointment to the Lottery, Aubin served for 21 years as a police officer for the City of Providence, Rhode Island, retiring as Deputy Chief of Police, and then served as the Executive Director of the Rhode Island Municipal Police Academy prior to his appointment to the Lottery. He holds a B.S. degree from Bryant College in Smithfield, Rhode Island.
Director Aubin is Past President of NASPL. He currently serves as Chairman of NASPL's Security Subcommittee and as a member of NASPL's Strategic Planning Committee. In addition, he is Past President of the Multi-State Lottery Association (MUSL). He currently serves as Chairman of the MUSL Cashola Group and MUSL Security & Integrity Committee. He is a member of the MUSL PowerBall Group and MUSL Executive Committee. In October of 2009, he was inducted into PGRI's Lottery Industry Hall of Fame.
